Tertullian on non-violence

"The Lord, in disarming Peter, disarmed every soldier." —Tertullian from "On Idolatry"

“Can it be lawful to make an occupation of the sword, when the Lord proclaims that ‘he who uses the sword shall perish by the sword’? And shall the son of peace take part in battle, when it does not become him even to sue at law? Shall he apply the chain, the prison, the torture, and the punishment, when he is not [even] the avenger of his own wrongs?” - Tertullian, The Crown

“Emperors could only believe in Christ if they were not emperors – as if Christians could ever be emperors.”- Tertullian’s Apology, 2nd century

It's Coming - January 2012

We will fight for peace, but we will do no violence

The first rule of Pacifist Fight Club is, you do not talk about Pacifist Fight Club.
The second rule is, you must move from talk to action.
The third rule is, you must love all people, at all times.
The fourth rule is, you must engage in a fight to the death daily as you struggle against your own apathy, selfishness, prejudice and pride.
The fifth rule is, you must fight the status quo of your life.
